When someone reaches out for help, we listen first. We assess their urgency, readiness, and commitment to the recovery journey.

 

Situation & Financial Review

We carefully review each person’s circumstances and finances to determine which of our scholarship tiers they may qualify for. While scholarship support is available, we believe every recipient should have some financial or practical “skin in the game.” This contribution can take many forms, such as a small payment, volunteering, or providing support to future Lost Black Sheep scholarship recipients. Our goal is to ensure commitment while fostering a sense of responsibility and community. 

 

Application Process

Applicants complete our online form (now in its final stages of refinement), helping us gather basic information needed to start the interview process. Applicant will hear back within 48 hours of applying.

Interview with our team 

Every applicant meets with members from our Team, including our Founder Jonny, either in person or via Zoom video to ensure we understand their story and can help make the best decisions moving forward for them. Our Founder, Jonny, has over 10 years of working in the addiction/recovery field as well as 13 years of sobriety. His own journey and level of expertise is what makes Lost Black Sheep so unique and special.

Placement in Trusted Treatment

If approved, we help place them in one of the reputable treatment centers we’ve built strong, trusted relationships with. These facilities share the same heart and mission of Lost Black Sheep.

Funding With Integrity

Scholarships are paid directly to the treatment facility, ensuring transparency and accountability every step of the way.

 

Ongoing Connection & Support

We don’t walk away once treatment begins. We stay connected and supportive throughout the entire journey. When Lost Black Sheep becomes involved, we become family.

 

 

How much does treatment typically cost?

 

The cost of treatment can vary, but thanks to our growing partnerships with trusted rehab facilities, we are able to make highly reputable care far more attainable than it would be otherwise. These centers believe deeply in our mission and in the people we serve. Because of that:

 

• Our partner facilities provide significantly reduced rates when placements are made through Lost Black Sheep as a nonprofit, easing the financial strain for both the individual and our organization. For example, while treatment can cost around $30,000, our scholarships can cover up to $15,000, making recovery far more accessible.

• Cash based arrangements often unlock even further savings, allowing each contribution to stretch farther and support more clients on their path to recovery.

 

Through these relationships, every dollar goes further, making it possible for more individuals to access life changing treatment with dignity, support, and hope, no matter their financial situation.

​​​Support During & After Treatment

 

When someone enters treatment through Lost Black Sheep, we remain actively involved every step of the way.

We help prepare individuals for treatment, stay connected while they’re in care, and work with them to plan for what comes next before they leave. During treatment, with proper consent, we provide consistent check-ins, encouragement, and advocacy, acting as a steady point of connection alongside clinical care.

After treatment, we stay in touch during the critical transition period and beyond, offering ongoing support, accountability, and connection to resources or community as needed. Our role doesn’t end once they transition out of treatment. We believe lasting change is built through continuity, trust, and long-term connection.
